Being all you can be...as a mom

The last week I have been running into little things that have given some good insight and encouragement in parenting.

As I was reading through the daily devotions at The Purpose Driven Life web site I ran across this devotional on parenting. They gave 4 words that really spoke to me as to how to be a good parent. There are lots of books on parenting and sometimes it can all feel pretty complicated, I personally like to keep it simple and I think that theses 4 words keep it simple AND they also say a lot.

Presence, Acceptance, Guidance, and Correction

Also while I was driving to work with the kids today they were talking about guilt free parenting and how it is the little things that matter with kids... They used a phrase that really captured me..."Listen with your eyes." It meant a lot as we get busy and are many times on auto pilot, you think you are listening but you are not really engaged. So, stop and "listen with your eyes."

Cheers,
Beth
